Day 17... A song that makes you cry

I'm pregnant, remember?  Lots of songs make me cry these days!

How about this one....

Or this one... (this one came out right when we had first moved away from home, as brand new newlyweds and I felt all alone--my mom called one day and said it made her think of me--I still cry every time I hear it)

Or maybe this one...

this one...

(btw...I LOVE the conductor on this one...I want to conduct music like that!)

or this one?

What songs make you cry?

Day 16...A picture of a new friend you've made this year...

Wanna meet my new friend?  Anybody recognize her?  Flylady to the rescue!

I've spent a lot of time feeling overwhelmed and totally guilty about the state of my never-company-ready house. Not to mention the worry when Mom calls and says she's on her way over! :)  I got the flylady book and for once felt empowered instead of guilty!! Having a happy, clean, organized house is something I CAN accomplish!  I've got a long way to go, and for the next two months I've decided to go to strictly maintenance, but it's something that I can accomplish and love.

If you struggle with cleaning, check her out!

Day 15...A person you would love to switch places with for a day...

Ever think you didn't realize how good you had it?

I would trade places with this person for a day...

Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE my life...but--to trade for a day?  I'd trade me...

the
working at Deseret Book
late nights
early mornings
door-bell ditching cookies
car decorating
road trip taking
living on Top Ramen and Cheddar Bacon Chips
library studying
dreaming of my Mr. Wonderful
Stake Activities Committee Chair
6 roommates, two bathroom sharing
skinny
version of me.

Just for a day.  Or maybe two... :)

Day 14...A description of your current bag...

Until the bambino comes (which was just scheduled for April 1st, btw--SWEET!!), I've downsized to just a purse! It's been so lovely not to lug around a huge old diaper bag--although I LOVE my diaper bag when I lug it around...check out my aunt's blog to get one for yourself!

Anywho, currently in my small purse, which is super cute and red, I've got....

a package of trail mix
4 jolly ranchers from Christmas, the sour ones!
my wallet
my gloves, which really should belong in my coat
a package of mints
about 15 receipts
various pieces of garbage
two diapers
a baggy of wipes
and a few pens.

Day 12...Something you are OCD about...

Ummm, believe it or not, this was tough to come up with.  (And if you can come up with something off the top of your head, I guess I don't hold it together as well as I thought!).
Among other things, something I'm OCD about is ANTS IN MY HOUSE.  Just in case you were wondering, they are NOT invited!  Anywhere--not just the kitchen or pantry, but anywhere!  I make Mike spray the foundation and house every spring, and I go absolutely hay-wire when I find them inside.  They are not welcome!  I have a happy memory of Mike helping to banish some sugar ants while we lived in Texas.  It was night, it was dark, and he helped me follow their trail through the wall and then to the outside, where we killed the little buggers!  Ha, ha, ha! (Insert evil laugh here!)

Red ants, black ants, sugar ants--die!

And, for all you Texans...remember this ad?  It's the BEST!

Day 11...Something that makes you angry/sad

This makes me sad, and mostly sick to my stomach...

Day 10...A photo of something that makes you happy.

This was our St. George Trip last year.  We get to go again (thanks to Mom and Dad for watching the bambino's, and Steph and Dee for forking out the cash) in just one week.
 THAT makes me very happy!

Speaking of dream home...

Remember how I got 96 feet of hook strip from Mike for one of my Christmas presents?  Sweet!!

Here's what we did with it...I LOVE IT!

Day 9...Your Dream House...

So in preparation for this post I pulled out my old house plans.  Awesome house plans, I tell you, awesome!  I just need to scan them in and wha-la!  You'll see my genius! (This may or may not happen today... :)

In the meantime, wanna see my dream bathtub?  It's part of my dream house, right?

An infinity tub--overflowing to the brim, with a ceiling spout.  Now doesn't that sound just lovely?!

Oh What Do You Do in the Wintertime?

We've had fun the past little bit...we've hit up the Treehouse a few more times, gone up to Logan to play in the snow, and hit up Ogden's dinosaur museum--thanks to a great Groupon deal.
We're happy the sun has been out this week as it's been dreary and cold--I think we either need a few feet of snow, or spring to come!

Katelyn and Michael, making snow angels.  Michael is her favorite friend--and his mom is one of my favorite friends! How sweet it that!!  With baby number 3 my two best friends, from forever, and I will all have a set of kiddos 4 months or less apart.  How fabulous is that!?!

Josh at the Treehouse--he loves this sword and the stone.  Does he try to pull it out?  No, he tries to eat it! (Him, and 47 thousand other children! It's a wonder he's healthy!)

At the dinosaur park.  We got a smokin' deal on a season pass, and although it's going to be much more pleasant in the summer, it wasn't too bad this week.  We hit it up with Holly and her kids (Mike's cousin-in-law, whom we love!) and it was great!  Thanks groupon!

Ah! Don't eat me (the children don't look too fazed...)

Katelyn LOVED this pink dinosaur--maybe we'll have to find a copy of the flintstones to watch...
Daddy and Joshy on the slide...

In other news, I went to the chiropractor yesterday--I knew I liked going, but I'm sold!  Even if it means I'm going to go through our whole Flex Spending Account before the baby arrives, it's SO worth it!  I slept better last night then I have in weeks, and I don't have to be a gimp for the first 20 steps after I start walking.  It's heavenly!  Sciatic nerve...take that!

We also had a showing today on our house in Texas.  The first one since the 2nd week of Christmas.  This whole thing has been horribly awful and frustrating--and so this was a heavenly blessing of hope.  It's hard not to question Heavenly Father about His timing on this one...!

Day 7 and 8...A picture of someone you've been close to for a long time and your favorite quote.

This quote has been on my fridge for years.  I love it!

"Service changes people.  It refines, purifies, gives a finer perspective, and brings out the best in each one of us. It gets us looking outward instead of inward.  It prompts us to consider others needs ahead of our own.  Righteous service is the expression of true charity, such as the Savior showed."
-Derek A. Cuthbert

And these ladies have been close to my heart for years...I love them!

(After we have these babies, ladies...it's time for an updated picture! This is the last one I've got!)

Day 6...Favorite Book

Favorite book?  Pick just one?  Here's my top four! (In no particular order, might I add...)

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Letters for Emily

The History of Joseph Smith, by His Mother, Lucy Mack Smith

Fahrenheit 451

What are your favorites?

Day 4 and 5...Picture of you as a child and your favorite television program

Aren't I cute? :)

Favorite Television program?  I LOVE the Today Show.  I don't ever watch is, but if we had a TV in the kitchen, it would be chillin in the background as I played Mom.  When Katelyn was a baby (and I didn't realize how easy I had it!) we'd watch the Today show in the mornings.  All morning some mornings. Lovely!

Day 3....You're Favorite Movie

Favorite movie...mmm....I've got lots of favorites, but if I had to pick one, I'd say this one...

It's got it all...romance,

the villian,

a good dose of comic relief,

and magic--don't forget the magic.

I love it!!  It's not everybody's cup of tea, I'll admit, but you should give it a try...it's great!
