First Day of Preschool

Josh-man got to start school this year too! He was so excited!  He is in a little neighborhood Joyschool/Preschool one day a week.  He is loving having something that is just his (mom is loving 2 hours a week with only 1 kiddo!).  Such a sweetheart!

First Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was a big day in our family--the start of school!!  For the next bazillion years we will have kids in one school or another...exciting!!

I was so worried about this day--fretting and worrying and yes, even tears. But the morning came and went and all was well.  No tears from me, no tears from Katelyn, and no tears from anybody else either.  We got a sitter for the boys and Mike took the morning off of work so we got to take her to school together.  She was so excited for school to start and said she loved it all. She is still loving it today.  Let's hope this sticks for the next 18 years! :)

She came home and said her first day was good. She learned to say her teachers name, she learned some other kids' names, she got breakfast.  They practiced letters and sang songs and played games.  She was only sad once when "somebody else colored better than me".  Today they painted and learned about computers.  I think we are going to like this school thing! :)

Family Pictures...

I remembered I never posted our family pictures.  We took these back in July--before Trek.  It was a lovely day...until it wasn't anymore! We got a few good ones though...Thanks Chels!!

Katelyn's birthday!

Think back to July--remember?  Okay, good!  July is our crazy birthday month in the Williams Family. I have lost count of the amount of birthdays we have in a very small period--but I add two to that number! Katelyn and Mike have birthdays back to back--but we usually sort of celebrate them together.
Here is the run-down on Katelyn!

Katelyn wanted a princess day (big surprise!)  She helped me made a pinata and picked out the topping for her cake.  She wanted to have a swim party and then birthday party at Grandma's--so to Grandma's we went! We had a fun day!

We started out by going to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. She had been asking to go there for weeks, so we thought it would be a good time. Her birthday fell on a Friday, so Mike got to be home and that always makes things better!

Next we headed to Grandmas for a swim party. We invited Payton and Carson and the kids had a FABULOUS time! Yeah for summer birthdays!

After swimming we had a yummy dinner, a pinata, and presents! Successful start to a birthday weekend, I'd say! :)

Now when I said the START of a birthday weekend...I wasn't kidding.  Katelyn was Friday.  Mike was Saturday and we had Ben and Marilyn--one of his best friends and his wife--up for a BBQ and dinner. (Didn't get a single picture...seriously!?!)

Sunday we celebrated Aunt Ev, Becky, Mike, Katelyn, and Dad Williams.  It was a YUMMY dinner of deep fried turkey, presents, pie, cake, ice cream and basic frivolity!  Happy Weekend all!!

(okay, so I didn't get pictures of people...apparently the food was more important this day! :)

Inkom Vacation

The weekend before Josh's birthday we were lucky enough to head up to Inkom for some camping fun!  We left Thursday night and enjoyed dinner on the road and a nice drive to Idaho.  Our spot was perfect once we arrived and we set everything up and prepped for a COLD night! Who would have thought that Idaho would be so cold in August!
We had a whole agenda planned and we wasted no time Friday morning.  Shooting, 4-wheeling, motorcycle riding, holding kitties, talking to horses.  It was a fun filled morning.  We hung out in our hammock, ate junk food, and enjoyed being all together. In the afternoon we went swimming in Pocatello at Ross Park.  Some kid pooped in the pool so the kiddie pool was closed (lame!) but we made good work of the lazy river.  Luke is nuts in the water and keeping him alive is tough...so we headed back to camp early and got ready for our trip to see the Indian!

Matt and Brielle have a guy in their ward who makes a hobby out of Indians.  He has a legit Tee-Pee and he has all sorts of groups come and visit and get Indian names. It was great fun!! Face painting, Indian names...we loved it!

Saturday we headed up the road to ride horses for the morning.  It's easy to tell we are 'city folk' but the kids had a blast--and us as well!!  Once day when I don't have children I'm trying to keep alive, I think I would like to go horse riding again! :)
We headed back to the campsite for lunch and more shooting before heading home. It was a great last bash of summer--very worth the drive and time and energy! We didn't get as many camping trips in the summer as we had originally thought--so I was glad to get one more!

Back to School

Katelyn starts school on Tuesday.  Holy cow--when did that happen?!?  In prep for her big day, Katelyn got to go shopping with Grandma for a new school outfit (or 2, depending on how nicely she asked!! :)  This is pretty fun for me because I remember going shopping before school with MY grandma for my school outfit. What a great tradition Grandma Craven started!!

Katelyn had a fun day.  They went shopping and out to lunch with Grandpa, then came home and modeled her outfits for me and the boys.  She is sure going to be one cute Kindergartener! :)

Here I am.  I remember this fun day--we rode a bus and I got Grandma all to myself! Check out my mad sense of style! :)

Here is my Katelyn girl on her day...!
