Bowling!!

Wednesday evening, after a yummy dinner with the fam (thanks Mom, Dad, and Grandma...), we went on a triple date with Mike's sisters....so fun! Bowling!!

Ell and Meg
The cute us!
Chris and Becky
Mike creamed our crop (whatever that phrase means...), although in the beginning us gals thought we might pull ahead. After two games, the boys excelled, and us girls began to bowl worse, and worse, and worse. But we had a great time! Let's do it again!!

Happy Family Faces....

Thanks to everyone for coming and supporting us on our exciting day. This was a bit of a dream come true to have all the family around for this special occasion. Thanks for understanding the tight quarters for dinner, and thanks for staying for the whole block of church--we love you all!!

Good Ol' Deseret Book...

Ever had a job you loved? I mean, like really, really loved? Where the good days far outweighed the bad days, and where you pretty much were happy to go to work every day you were supposed to? Well, I did. (I guess I still do...being a Mom is pretty much awesome!)
Thursday we went to Provo with my Mom, Grandma, and Aunts. In addition to being totally fun, it was great to visit my old stomping grounds. Of course we had to make a visit to the mall, and, although I knew it was happening, I was sad to see my store was gone.
When I started college, I got my dream job--a job at Deseret Book. I think I had wanted to work there my whole life. I started working in Salt Lake at the ZCMI store, and then transferred to the University Mall store when I transferred to BYU.
On Thursday, I was surprisingly sad as I look around and realized that what used to be Deseret Book was now the new Tai Pan Trading store. Deseret Book moved just across the parking lot, and I love Tai Pan Trading...it was just that all those times were so good, and now, the store looked so different.

I'm grateful for that job--I loved it. I'm so glad I left before I wanted to...so many of my friends outgrew Deseret Book, outgrew Provo, outgrew BYU before they could leave and they left with such a bitter taste in their mouth. Not me...so, thanks to everybody who helped make that part of my life so good...Lindy, Christy, Becky, Keri, Tracy, Katherine, Mal, Mark, Nate...everybody.
I loved working 'in our DB way!'

I guess, looking back now, it's the people that make a job great--
although the books didn't hurt either!

First Playable Snow..

So, this wasn't the first snow...but it's the first one that produced enough of the good white stuff to stick! Us Texans haven't much experienced snow lately, so it was fun! I love my little pink powder puff girl!

More to come, I'm sure...Uncle Kyron wasn't around to play in it with us, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's got some fun snow plans!

You're Invited

We're blessing Josh!!
We're all about keeping in spirit with this sacred occasion, but we also don't want to leave anyone out who may feel the desire to attend. If you would like to be there, and I didn't happen to send you a formal invite, consider this yours! :)

It's Official!!

Josh is sleeping through the night!! It's been happening for 2 weeks now, but I didn't want to jinx anything--but I'm calling it! We've got a sleeper from 10:00 to 8:00. Wahoo!!

Kitchen and Backyard...

A few more pictures for you. Our dishwasher is broken, so I finally just decided to take a picture. I figured if I waited until there were no dishes in either the sink or the dish drain, I'd never get a picture. So...here you are!

This is the view from the family room. There is a fabulous red wall to your right, but you can't see it in this picture. The jury is still out on what color to do the rest of the kitchen in. Eventually we'll do a whole kitchen remodel and paint the walls that you see brown, yellow.

Here is the main kitchen part. Although I don't love the drop down ceiling, the kitchen really is very bright and roomy--and I love the bar.

Here is our fabulous $600 fridge...and the pantry that Mike and my Dad built. They did such a great job! Yeah for more storage!!

We LOVE our stove. If we move, I'm sure this will go with us. Convection, warming drawer, 5 gas burners...pure cooking bliss!

Our backyard is fully fenced and red ant free. It's awesome!! Katelyn loves to dig in the dirt, and we got a whole stinkin ton of apples from the tree you see. The shed is humongous, which is awesome cuz we don't have a garage, and we have big plans to build a deck in the spring. We're surrounded on two sides by big scary dogs, but they don't seem to bother Katelyn, so I try not to let them bother me!

Happy Halloween...This one's for Brielle...

Happy Halloween!! Enjoy the picture timeline of our fun!
