BYU Rugby

We headed to the BYU Rugby National Championship game on Saturday. It was SO FUN!  Mom and Dad came with us, and although Dad played Rugby as a kid, none of us really knew what was going on! It was the end of the game before we started to figure things out--but nonetheless, we had a great time.  Thanks for joining us Mom and Dad--we'll have to go again next year!

We had 3rd row seats, on one of the endzones.  We were so close to the action--could actually hear them hit each other and see heads getting stepped on.  This is one intense sport!
I would be interested to know that the average amount of injuries is after a game.

Yeah for date night!

And...the Lukeness Monster!

So, we had a quite, no meetings, homebound Sabbath afternoon today--! While the other crazies were sleeping, and during a momentary happy moment, I got some pictures of my littlest dude-man.  So cute!!

Little Old Man Luke

I just LOVE little boy church clothes!  Here's my little missionary.  Have you noticed the amount of boys being born? I think the Lord is going to open China in a few years and he's going to need TONS of missionaries~! :)
 Talking to the angels...

Watch out ladies...he's going to knock you dead!

Easter...take two!

Trying to get a good picture of my kids in their cute Easter outfits is pretty much a joke.  So here's take two!  And you'll notice, there's no Luke.  He had already peed through his outfit by the time I got the camera out, so it's just the two crazies! (And mostly just Katelyn, since I needed some good ones for Aunt Meg...)

 How's this mom?
We've got an issue, I think, with these eyes!

 CHEESE!

Wanna see some Luke-ness?  So sweet!  :)  I'm SO grateful that he does A LOT of this...

Cuz we get precious FEW moments of this...

Before we are back to a whole lotta this...!

I've got a cry-er on my hands.  Thankfully, having Katelyn in baby form broke me in and I know that the crying has an end.  Hopefully it will be soon! :)

Anniversary Fun!

So, you know how every anniversary has an element (or something) attached?  You know, 25 is your silver anniversary, 50 is the golden?  Well, the 5th is the wood anniversary.  (I know, I know...lots of jokes could be inserted here, but just for your too-much-information-information, I've not even had my six week appointment yet, so just put a stop to all those jokes right now! ;)  And so, in honor of this fun anniversary, I picked Mike up during his lunch break and we headed to MacBeaths Woodshop in Salt Lake for a little shopping.  So fun! If you are into wood (like my mom, who once said while we were passing a lumber truck, "don't you ever get the desire to high-jack a lumber truck?), this is the place for you.  Really exotic stuff, like Purpleheart and Zebra wood, as well as normal stuff like Pine and Maple.  Pretty, pretty! Uncut, unfinished, and expensive.  We ended up just window shopping, but we have some fun ideas for the future!

After coming home, Katelyn helped me make some cute little mini pies...yum! (Or, they would have been if I had used the right type of tapioca...oh well!)  We had a ka-bob dinner on wooden skewers and ate Take-5 candy bars.  We just made it a fun family birthday party and had a great time!

Who wouldn't want to celebrate with those cute family faces!? :)

P.S....I made my shirt for my anniversary date.  Take a plain t-shirt, add some bleach to a q-tip, get creative and wa-la!  Cuteness!!

Zoo-ness-osity!

Last week the Utah weather played a mean trick on us--it gave us lovely spring/summer weather for almost a week straight!! :)  But don't worry, we're back to dreary rain and cold today.
In honor of the sun, the kids and I hit up the Zoo...twice!  We headed out the first time with a good friend from our ward and her boys, and again on Friday when Mike came with us.  Great fun we had!  Our zoo is rather lame-ish, and a good part of it is under construction, but we had a grand time nonetheless!

Our weekend was otherwise spent doing yard work, golfing, shopping, and Mothers Day awesomeness.  We had a stressful Sacrament meeting (the topic of Mothers Day was, ironically, endurance.  Ha! Ha!!), a poop filled rest of church, and then a lovely afternoon visiting my mom, chatting with Mike's mom, and having a dinner at Mike's Aunt Ev's with his grandma and sister.  It was great!

Hope you all had a great weekend as well...here's to more sun!! :)

Happy Birthday...To ME!

The big 27...yup!  Sweet!  Mike asked me if 27 felt old...27 SOUNDS old, but I still feel 16 (especially since I'm not preggo anymore!)  Yesterday was fabulous...!!!  Mike went above and beyond (and, actually spent money.  I'm tickled pink!)  I wasn't running the footage department, so no pictures, but I had a great day anyway!

Mike surprised me with this beauty...it's been on my wishlist for YEARS.
Totally pointless and frivolous, I know, but so totally awesome to step out of the shower and have lovely, warm, snuggly towels waiting for you.  I highly recommend it.  (I almost wish it would snow again, so I can truly appreciate it!  This will be AWESOME in the winter...)  Plus, aren't birthdays supposed to be all about getting stuff you don't really need?

I got the food dehydrator I've been wanting...plus accessories...from Mike's family.  Mike and I already gave this bad boy a test run and enjoyed yummy dried apples and pineapple today for snacks.  Sa-weet!

And, to fulfill my craft need (I'm having major post-partum nesting!) my parents gave me a mega Jo-Ann's giftcard and quilting stuff.  Can you say brand new Olfa? :)  I'm set to make the quilt I've been dying to make for Katelyn.  Anybody want to pitch in for a new sewing machine for Christmas? :)

Plus, I got a plethora of other great things--super cute baby supplies, jewelry, gift cards (for shoes!!), water bottle and the new President Monson book--already several chapters in, SO GOOD!

Anyway, it was a great day.  We finished up the evening by going to the Craven extended family 'Masterful Discussion' and it was really, truly, inspiring. Mike and I talked all the way home about how to improve our family and start now to develop a more consecrated attitude.  I am blessed to come from such a great heritage.  I have a new favorite scripture story--and it may just become our family motto...'First in, Stand Firm, Last to Leave.'

Thanks everybody!  It was FABULOUS! :)
