Memorial Day Renovations

We love Memorial Day weekend--or rather, I love Memorial Day weekend.  It's the weekend we do Home Renovations!  Bless my sweet husbands heart, he is such a good sport!  Last year we started our Kitchen remodel--this year we are moving onto the bathroom! Can't wait to see how much we can get done in one weekend! :)

Introducing Our Baby Benjamin

There are a lot of updates, but let's start with first things first!

Our sweet baby boy Benjamin David made his appearance Wednesday, May 8th at 4:26 pm.  He was 8 lbs, 13 ounces and 21 inches long.  We love him!

We went into the hospital at 7:00 in the morning.  I was happy that I was able to convince my Dr. to move our induction back--originally he wanted us to come in at 7:00 pm, the night before. Who wants to labor all night long?  Not me!  It was a bad night of sleep, but at least it was in my own bed! :)

 Last family of 5 pictures...

Labor was longer than I had hoped, but not bad.  I'm an epidural girl, so by 11:00 I was hooked up and ready to go...it was mostly boring from then out.  Mom came up to the hospital to help pass the time and Mike and I spent hours watching Netflix.  I had hoped to have the baby by 2, but he decided to hang out a bit longer until Aunt Jillisa could make it.  The epidural started to wear off at the end, which caused me some panic, but good old Anesthesiolist Matt came back right quick and gave me another dose.  I was all numbed up by the time showtime arrived.   Whew!  1.5 pushes and our little man was here!

Labor...oh what fun! Let's get this show on the road!
Our BIG, little boy.  Katelyn has been our smallest baby, by far (7.5), Josh was 9 even and Luke was 8.3.
 Our Dr...we love him!
Proof for Mikayla that I was present!
Silly boy--he often just has that one eye open.  Looks like a grump!
 Grandma!
Love this picture--! This is, HOLY FREAKIN COW we survived pregnancy!

The evening he was born, while we were waiting to move to our recovery room, the hospital had a 'code yellow' which the nurse told us later was a bomb threat/sweep.  What fun!  Trapped in that room for 3 hours--with the siblings and visitors, not being able to leave, sitting on that HORRIBLE bed, starving.  It was awesome.  They finally moved us to recovery and the kids headed home with Grandpa to go to bed.  The afterpains got really nuts about 10 pm and I spent a good hour in tears--worse than labor, I assure you.  Alls well that ends well though, and finally I got new drugs and finally got to sleep.

We came home Friday afternoon.  I was so happy to get off that hospital bed! :)  The kids are adjusting well, and last night little man was only awake once! Here's hoping that is a sign of good things to come!

A note about his name:
Our little Benjamin David was named after Mikes two best friends--Benjamin King and David Gale.  What a great threesome these guys have been--and Mike and I hope that our little Benjamin finds friends just as great!
