Happy Birthday Luke!

Luke's birthday happened to fall on Easter this year.  I wonder how many times that is going to happen in his lifetime?  What a whirlwind of 2 years it has been...this boy is nuts.  Sure love him with my whole heart, but man alive!, he keeps me on my toes!
We celebrated by combining Easter dinner and his birthday, so we headed to my Mom's house for the festivities.  I'm glad the weather was nice as we were able to be outside.  We had a traditional Easter dinner, then enjoyed birthday cake and presents.  Thanks for the gifts and attendance.  What a lucky boy he is to be so loved!

Lots of helpers for the birthday boy.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa--couldn't even wait to put them on!

Easter Sunday

We love Easter!  9 AM church made it particularly nice this year--lots of time for being together after church and NO meetings, which always makes for a better morning.  I spoke in church, which was also awesome as I didn't have children climbing on me and making me want to scream. I swear sacrament meeting is the very worst pregnant hour of every single week!

Bless Mike's heart, he indulged me and got pictures of the kids while I finished getting ready on Sunday morning.  We got a few family snapshots after church and all in all, it was a good day!

My pretty Katelyn girl...

Best one we got of Luke...all day he looked stoned.  Oh well!  Must have been all the candy! ;)

My handsome Josh.  Isn't he turning into such a good lookin dude?

Best one of all three.  What will we do next year when there is 4?!?

 The girls.

The boys...Mike's lap is running out of room!

And the best family shot. Can anyone say naptime?
 Oh well! Happy Easter anyway!

Easter Saturday

We have a tradition of having a 'Mormon' Easter bunny visit our house on Easter Saturday.  We do all the fun Easter stuff on Saturday, and that way we can try and keep the real focus of Easter appropriate on Sunday.  This year the kids were disappointed that the Easter bunny didn't take us to Aunt Brielle's house, like last year, but we had a good day nonetheless.
We decided to celebrate by going down to BYU for their Easter Egg Hunt with Cosmo (which was a JOKE) and attending the Spring Practice game (which was also mostly a joke). Next year I think we will be staying home! ;)

We met up with Ben and Marilyn for the Easter egg hunt, and then joined the Gale crew for the football game. Even though it was mostly crowded, hot, and stressful, I still love any chance to get to Provo and feel the goodness of that place.  Such great memories! :)

Earlier in the week, the kids and I dyed eggs during Luke's nap. (Poor Luke...one day we won't do all the fun stuff during his naptime.  Maybe after the baby is born...maybe after he stops being such a wild dude! ;)
The kids loved it--and I even had fun!  Nothing stellar or super creative in the egg department, but the kids had fun mixing colors and would have colored all day if I had let them.

Family Rodeo Night

Jillisa is always so good about finding fun things to do--!  (I've got some more recent posts to do, but I gotta catch-up first...).  We headed to Ogden for a rodeo night.  It was a stormy, cold evening--but being at a rodeo made me excited for summer.  The kids *mostly* loved it, and it was nice to have something different to do!

Poor, sweet Joshy. He spent most of the night curled up covering his ears.  Anybody else ever had a child SUPER sensitive to noise?  It was a long night for him, unfortunately. We are going to invest in some noise reducing headgear for my sweet boy! :)
