June--Craven Family Vacation

Well, now that we've made it through June, I will see if I can catch up on this good ol blog of mine. I won't start from the VERY beginning (the kitchen remodel) cuz I still don't have acceptable 'after' pictures...but I will skip ahead to week one...Craven Family Vacation!
We headed to Powder Mountain for a week, and when I say Powder Mountain, I mean Powder MOUNTAIN!  Like, the very tippy top.  Now that is a view!  It was a crazy nuts drive, but the view at the top was beautiful!
We spent the week playing games (Clue marathon!), eating WAY too much food, golfing, motorcycling, shooting (before the fire restrictions!), 4-wheeling, jet skiing, swimming, and just hanging out.  It was good ol fashion, awesome, family time fun.  Man I'm grateful for my family and the time we all spend together!
(Especially this week.  As I write this I'm having myself a little pity party that I'm stuck here, alone--with the bambinos--while the entire rest of the immediate Williams family--except the missionary--is enjoyed hot, laughing, late, memory making nights and crazy sight-seeing, wedding prep, temple attending days in DC.  It sucks to be an outsider, only girl in-law, left out person.  Boo hoo!)

So, here is picture proof of our fun, in no particular order. Dear family--I only got a few lame pictures, could you all share? :)

Allow me to pause for a minute...

Our June is nuts. Nuts, nuts, nuts, I tell you!  We have made it halfway and I'm gearing up for girls camp to start next week!  I was so tired that everybody--me and Mike included--went to bed last night by 8:00.  I was out like a light!  So, since I'm up early this fathers day morning, I thought I'd take a minute to give a quick update...quick, quick, quick! :)

Our June has included, thus far:

A MAJOR kitchen remodel (this is still ongoing...perhaps I should have picked a less crazy month to start!)

 A family vacation:

And camping with cousins:

Still to go this month:
Kitchen remodel, still
Girls camp
Grandma's Birthday Family Reunion Weekend
Mom's Birthday
Jenny's Wedding
Oh, and...laundry, laundry, laundry!

Whew! We are getting tired!

What a weekend!

Whew!!  What a weekend!  We made it...to functionality, that is.  I knew all along we wouldn't get to 'pretty' yet--there are still hours and hours of work to go, but we got function back in our kitchen so hooray for eating real dinner instead of pizza!
A HUGE thanks to:

Mom--for hours and hours of work
Dad--for hours and hours of work
Kasey--for hours and hours of work
Kyron--for hours and hours inhaling insulation while doing work
Jillisa--for hours and hours of kid help, and work
Chelsi--for hours and hours of letting Kasey come, and for a yummy dinner complete with the biggest burgers I've ever see, and for the good idea of support for my range decor.
Austin--for sharing Jilli and hours and hours of work
Rebecca and Mike--for watching my kiddos-ALL DAY-even my mama's boy Luke!
Jenny and Seth--for watching my kiddos as a surprise and thereby exponentially increasing our productivity and for letting us use your oven.

And a huge, huge, huge thank you to my sweet hubby.  You're brains, brawns, and patience make you the BEST project buddy I could ask for! Whoop!!

Before:

After our weekend--where we literally ripped apart our entire kitchen, then put it back together again... (man, I wish I had taken this picture from the other side of the room, to get the better comparison.  Just appease me--it was a lot of work! :)

I have been bitten by the genealogy bug

How neat is this? My pedigree chart, all fanned out and easy to see. I think I will be printing this off to hang on my wall. Awesome!

Kitchen Remodel...THIS WEEK!!

Folks...I am so. stinkin. excited.  Can't wait~!  My kitchen remodel, phase 1, starts on Thursday night.  Yeah for three day weekends!
Today I have taken everything out of the kitchen in prep for the mess that will ensue.  I'm going to scrub down the cabinets tomorrow and sand them, to prep for stain.  I ordered my crown molding and am headed to MacBeths tomorrow to buy the wood to build the new cabinets. I have a list of tools and supplies to purchase, and a list of tools and supplies to borrow.  Home Depot is going to see a lot of me this week.
Yeah!
During some down time today when Luke (who got Hand Foot and Mouth this weekend, oh joy) was FINALLY sleeping, I designed these for my new space. (Thanks Kristen and Pinterest for letting me copy!)
Whoop!

(I like the colorful one better, but the yellow one matches better. I can't decide...it's sort of a nasty sick yellow. Obviously still needs some tweaking, but...the saying is so cute, I put it here anyway!)
