Someone explain this to me...

I'm no parenting expert, for sure, but after 3 kids I feel like I've seen a lot. Does/did your child do this? It is driving me NUTS!  Someone tell me how to stop this kid!  As if one major head trauma wasn't enough, I swear, I think he's trying to give himself a concussion!

Any ideas?

Both of my boys have done this. I always just figured they enjoyed "bouncing" off the back of the high chair. My littlest guy will lean as far forward as he can and then throw himself back into the high chair. He thinks it's the funniest thing. It was short-lived for my first and my second doesn't do it as much as he used to.

Eric use to do that. His exact move was to go the other way and smack his forehead on the floor. When he was REALLY mad it would be really hard. He would get a purple mark on his head and you could see the indent of the carpet fibers. Freaky business. What we did, even though it's hard, is just ignore it and after a little while he stopped. It's an attention thing. When he was calm we would talk to him about how that was bad for his head. But really we just completely ignored it and he just stopped.
