Happy New House Satisfaction!

So--!
We haven't actually moved yet--we don't move until the 12th of May--but our house is ALL DONE and we had our first walk through this morning! Yeah for a pretty new house! It was so fun to see everything finished and ready for us to move in. We wrote down a few things that needed fixing--so don't mind all the orange strips that you will see in the videos, they are just places that need to be fixed. There are going to be a lot of pictures and a lot of videos that most of you probably don't care about--but for those of you who do, enjoy!

The outside of our home
(you're right Dad, it does look like a slope, but it's not much of one, if at all)

Here we go! Home Sweet Home!

Here's the front door and entry!

Kitchen and Storage Closet

Master Suite (sounds more posh than master bedroom/bath)

Going up stairs and Gameroom

Guest Room and Bathroom (where all of you will stay when you come to visit!)

Other rooms upstairs

Utility Room/Attic

Exterior/Backyard

You'll notice that our goobster isn't in any of our pictures--here's a blessing of being a member of the Church...people serve just because they can! We were told that we couldn't bring children with us on our walk-through (which, if we lived in town wouldn't be such a horrible thing, but add on 5ish hours of driving time from here to there...) and so we needed a babysitter in Pearland. I don't know anyone in Pearland, but I knew where I could find people I could trust and who would be willing to help. I called the Relief Society President down in Pearland and she gave me the number of several ladies who would be willing to watch Katelyn for us during our walk-through. So, Katelyn had a great time playing and I made a new friend!
Count your many blessings!

Happy New Cell Phone Satisfaction!

So--we got new cell phones!! I don't think it's probably safe to give out our new numbers over the internet, so I'll send an e-mail later with all of our new info! We were planning on getting a family plan (upgrade from one cell phone to 2!) when we moved so that we could get local numbers, but our plans just happened to come about quicker then we thought...ever accidentally let your baby chew/slobber/gnaw on your cell phone? Yeah, it doesn't work so well afterwards!!
Anywho--we're both pretty excited and dorky about our new phones--and it's been fun to take lots of pictures and then upload them! So enjoy a short visual walk-through of our day!!

The first picture taken with my new phone! Cute Katelyn, of course!

Eating Worms (not really, it's stir-fry!)

At the Cub Scouts Hockey Game!

A favorite picture--sweet sleeping baby!

And the morning after--thanks Aunt Meg for the cute PJ's!

Yeah for a whole Sunday with Dad home!! Wahoo for Stake Conference!

We love you all!!

Fill the Temple Week

This week is Fill the Temple Week. Our Temple Presidency here is Houston does a neat thing--twice a year each Stake is invited to Fill the Temple--members are encouraged to take the day off work and spend all day in the temple. Mike and I headed down yesterday and did Endowment Session, Sealings, Endowment Session. It makes for a really long day (what with the 4 hour drive) but it's also really neat! We gained lots of insight and just enjoyed the peace of the Temple. It was great! One temple blessing, in particular, that I enjoyed yesterday was the absence of my persistent toothache! I've had a bad toothache for a while now, and we're waiting until we move to find a better dentist before we fix it. My tooth didn't hurt once while we were in the temple--I'm grateful for the little blessing that we receive for obedience!

And, as part of fill the temple week I'm babysitting a whole lot! I just couldn't resist this picture...what do you get when her put 5 children under four in a 10X8 room for 10 hours? A MESS!! :)

Gig Em Aggies!

We decided to have a family fun night last Saturday. We headed to the A&M Maroon and White game and had a great time! It's the only game we have been able to afford going to--tickets regularly run 80 bucks a pop--and they charge you for babies! Dude!! The Maroon and White game was only $5...and students and children were free! So we headed over for a fun night of FOOTBALL!

Hanging out with Daddy--check out the gouge in her forehead--our table-top greeting is healing nicely!

I love Katelyn, she loves me...

Here's a shot with A&M campus behind us--you can't really tell, but campus is HUGE!! (It's like 4 BYU's put together! Mammoth!)

And lastly, just hanging out after the game! Whew--we're tired!!

A&M games are no BYU games, but we did have a fun time!

This is how Katelyn spends a day with Dad!

I was gone all day Saturday, so Katelyn got to spend the day with her Dad! Here are the highlights!

Katelyn loves her books!

And here is a great picture! All of Mike's silly antics don't surprise me anymore, so he's moved to making Katelyn look crazy! So silly!

A list of new firsts!

Hello one and all!!
We've experienced our first head wound--another first finished! Yeah!! Katelyn was playing around this coffee table (not ours--Mike has finally convinced me that we don't want one!) and bashed her head open on the corner (the exact corner that is pictured!). No stitches this time around, but a whole 'lotta blood. We're hoping it doesn't scar! Yeah for firsts!!

And here is another first...ever been warned not to play with a baby right after they have eaten? Well, if not, consider yourself warned! This picture does not do the amount of spit-up true justice; let's just say Mike got an early lunch! Enough said.

And here's a video for Aunt Meg! We sure feel grateful for all the great stuff we've gotten lately! Katelyn loves her books!

And, just because we can't possibly imagine posting a blog without talking about how excited we are to be moving, here's a fun picture! I saved every single one of these boxes from our move to Texas--all of these and several more. I had them stashed all over the house--under the bed, behind the furniture, under the couches, etc. Since we are so blessed to have a moving company doing the move, all of these boxes headed to a friends house to help them with their move! Wahoo!

Oh, and one more thing--I've uploaded a whole lot more pictures to our picasa web album--check out the link on the left in you want more photos of the beautiful baby girl!

Happy Date Night!

A cute picture of Katelyn to start us off...

So--Mike was in charge of our date night this week--and we had so much fun!! It felt just like we were back in college and carefree once again!! Here's the highlights!

Our sister city, College Station, does a free starlight concert series. We loaded up the blankets and our hoodies (yes, believe it or not, it got chilly enough to use them!) and headed to the park. So fun!!

We didn't actually stay for the whole thing--in fact, we didn't even stay until the main event--when they say starlight concert series--they mean it!! It got to be too late for us oldies--even though we were feeling young!--so we headed home after the opening act! And honestly, the opening act wasn't that great--but we sure had fun with all the pre-concert festivities. Here's a really fun video--I've got to get me one of those t-shirt guns!

One of my favorite things--REAL GRASS!! Not the gross stuff that grows everywhere else.

We've also been to the park a lot this last little while! We go up to school everyday to have lunch with Mike, and sometimes we go to the park to eat! Such beautiful weather!

I love this picture of Mike--he's such a great Daddy!

And lastly, happy new summer dress!! Thanks Aunt Meg--you're keeping us well equipped with darling dresses and outfits!!

We love you all!! Happy Sabbath!

A Few New Pages--I'm addicted to GIMPing!

Okay--so, I'm really excited about this! I've known about this digital scrapbooking program for about a year now (it's free, which is awesome!) but it's been a bit tough and frustrating to learn! With Katelyn now on a more regular schedule, I can now dedicate two hours a day to figuring the program out! Anyway, here are a few more of my alphabet pages that go in the book I'm making her! So cute!!

Other then GIMPing each day, we've just been hanging out, waiting to move!! (Speaking of which..there has been some questions about decorating our new house--YEAH--here is a picture of the quilt around which Katelyn's room is going to be centered. These types of colors with shapes and flowers and the such...Shabby Chic type look...)

Mike is getting a bit frustrated at school/work--we're not big fans of living in the limbo stage. But we only have 4 weeks and a few days left, so all it well!
We've been spending lots of time outside at the park and Katelyn and I have become babysitting masters! It seems that everyone in the ward as of late is needing a late minute babysitter--and Katelyn and I are here to help! It's good to serve, but I'm finally starting to realize what it feels like to be stretched a bit too thin--ah, the wonder of having a day just to ourselves! :) I'm glad to help out though, service really makes you more happy then just about anything else.
Katelyn is crawling all around and pulling up on all the furniture. She's learning to stand and she's getting stronger and stronger everyday! I think that she will be walking by the time we move, but that could just be me being optimistic! She also loves to get into everything! We optimistically call it helping, but really, you can get SO much more done when she's not around! :)

("Helping" Mom with the Laundry)

We really enjoyed conference weekend. We were able to hook the internet up to our TV so that we could watch it at home--which was great because if we had gone up to the church we would have spent the whole time out in the hall with the goober. I loved seeing our new Prophet; how grateful I am for a living Prophet and for modern day revelation! We are so blessed!

I guess that's it. Check out this cute pic! Thanks for the fun bathtime toys Aunt Meg!! Bathtime is my favorite time of the day!!

And enjoy some funny videos--Katelyn has crazy parents, poor kid! :)We sure love her though!! And we love you all!

I started a fun new thing!! I've started to digital scrapbook, and to practice I'm making a book for Katelyn's birthday! A fun ABC book--I only have a few pages done so far, and here they are! In the end, if I play my cards right, everything should rhyme and be SO cute! Enjoy!

Here's the A page...

And the C page... (it appears that it didn't transfer over completely...there is not supposed to be that blue strip along the bottom...)

The D page (see how 'C' and 'D' rhyme!?)

And the M page! So cute!
