Okay, so now that this is official, I can finally share. I was sustained as the Silverlake Ward's Young Womens President today. Ah! I've got great counselors and we've got great girls, so it's going to be...great! Anybody have any good ideas or memories of your time in Young Womens that you want to share--life changing activities, lessons, or just simple things that your leaders did to help make a difference! Thanks in advance, and good luck me!

You're going to be great. I have about a hundred great experiences from YW but one I think would be great to duplicate was Parley P Pratt night. We discussed the story of PPP on Sunday (YM & YW- we did it combined) and then Friday night rolled around and we all gathered at one house with our Book of Mormons and our sleeping bags, ready to read through as much of the book as we could in one night like Pratt. Ask Mike, he went one year. This was such a testimony building experience it became an annual tradition. I'll keep thinking of more experiences/activities and let you know. Feel free to call me and pump me for ideas.
Mindy, I loved serving in Young Women's!!!! I learned so many fantastic things. You'll be great. The girls are going to love you!

I have to say that while I knew my leaders were leaders, I also knew they were my friends. I still talk to my YW president today. They were ALWAYS there to talk to me! I spent time with their families which helped me to feel like I could trust them and look up to them as great role models. I know you will be wonderful as the prez. I wish you the best and feel free to email/call if you have any questions. I have about 2 years experience in YW presidency now...
