We had a special day the Saturday, August 1st.
Katelyn had the chance to be baptized August 1st and we were able to bless Elizabeth at the same time. It was a neat day for Mike and I, and our sweet girls. How we love them! I like the space between Katelyn and Elizabeth--to dream about what Elizabeth is going to become by the time she is 8, and to remember back to how Katelyn was as a baby. What sweet daughters we have been blessed with. It was a fun day to celebrate them!
It was different for us, but we decided to bless Elizabeth at Katelyn's baptism. Normally we prefer to have the blessing happen in church on Sunday, but circumstances were such that we changed our minds, ha! It was nice to have the family that had to travel be able to attend both. I'm thankful to my Dad for letting us use his Institute building to have a little gathering afterwards as there is ZERO room here in our apartment.
A quick note about Miss Elizabeth's name. Her middle name, Suzanne, is after my Aunt Suzanne.
You will have a hard time finding someone more selfless, covenant, giving, kind, sincere and thoughtful. She's always the first to get to work and won't leave until the job is done, She signs up for the yucky jobs and never complains. She cares and remembers to ask, makes you feel important and loved, and goes about doing countless quiet acts of service and obedience. What a woman she is (and her whole family, really!). Love her. I hope my own little Suzanne will learn and keep similar traits.
