Happy February!

Hello one and all! We've had a good month at our house--hope it's been the same for all of you!
Katelyn and I have spent a lot of the month sick--ug! We just keep passing a nasty cold back and forth between each other! Katelyn started out the month with an ear infection, and is now ending the month with a double ear infection (didn't want the second ear to feel left out, dontcha know!) I am so grateful for modern medicine--after 3 days on the antibiotics she is beginning to get back to our happy-go-lucky Katy-bug! I'm finally feeling better as well--just in time for Mike to catch it! :(

Check out this video--our baby girl LOVES TV! I think it's just the changing pictures and colors--she loves screen savers and fish tanks just as much! Crazy girl! :)

And, nothing is safe anymore! Having a completely mobile baby is crazy! :) Mike likes the set up our tiny living room as a private play area for Katy-bug--he sets up the couch cushions and barricades her in! It doesn't stop her from trying to get out though!! (She can get out now--the pillows don't really work anymore!)

The things that this little goober can get into--and in the short amount of time that she can get into it! We haven't had this clean of a house in a long time! Her favorites of the week consist of keys, socks and CD's!

In addition--let me send a word to the wise--lower your crib mattresses well before you think you should! We waited too long, and here is the result!

When Katelyn fell out of her crib, I swear, that was the scariest thing I have ever experienced! We were blessed though--she may look bumped and bruised, but she's just fine! I'm glad that Heavenly Father watches out and makes us the difference for semi-neglectful parents!

Valentines Day was fun here at our house...Katelyn and I made a Valentines Cake for Mike and his group up at school, and we went out to the Olive Garden for our Valentines Dinner Date.

Thanks for the fun Balloon, Grandma Great!

Katelyn and I headed to Detroit on the 16th and had a working good time! Would you believe it that I didn't take one picture?! And we had all these high hopes of uploading all the before and afters to show everyone all the work we did! Oh well! I did, however, take this video and Katelyn and their puppy, Dedric. Katelyn LOVED that dog--I have never in my life been so tempted to get a dog of my own! It's pretty cute!

We're back home now and prepping for our house hunting trip and the big Thesis Defense! Mike has been working so hard and putting in lots of extra hours--and all his work is paying off! He has a practice Thesis Defense tomorrow with his group from school and then the real thing next Friday, March 9th. He's not nervous, but that's only because he's amazing! I can't believe we are almost done! Yeah Mike!!

Guess that's it! We're looking forward to March--Happy Birthday Kyman on Saturday! Enjoy the cold--we're getting warm around here, as you can tell! (Thanks Aunt Brielle for the great shopping cart cover--it keeps me clean and entertained!:)

Love you all!

Welcome to Summer! :)

Hello one and all! We hear that all you in Utah are buried under snow, and that most of you everywhere else are experiencing winter-like temperatures...may we entice you with a trip to Texas?! This has got to be one of the best times of the year--little to non-exsistant humidity and wonderful temeperatures. We've spent several mornings at the park going on walks and we've been barbequeing up a storm! Our AC has been on non-stop and it's official windows-down weather when we drive! And, as I type, I'm looking out my open window to green grass and blue, beautiful sky...anybody want to come and play?

We've had a good little while--despite Katelyn being sick! Sick babies are no fun! However, I think we have probably weathered our first ear infection and I swear there is no more runny, nasty stuff left in her nose! Katelyn also learned a new skill this week--just today in fact! She's been working and working and working on crawling--but hasn't figured out the hand/knee combo until today. Check it out--her first official crawl! (Actually, her second, we didn't get the first on tape!) We're silly, we know, but we thought that Grandma's would appreciate it as much as we did! :)

Other happenings at the Williams house...
We've started a garden! We don't have any place that we can grow anything outside, and we don't ever get direct sunlight through our windows, so we improvised. It looks sorta ghetto--but everything is growing great! We're growing a whole bunch of herbs--and we're giving peppers and tomatoes a shot. Who knows how well they will do...we're also growing lavender for the yummy smell! We're pretty proud of our plants!

We're getting excited about getting house soon! We move the first part of May and we can't wait! We'll miss everything here, but we're excited about all the new people and things we'll see in Houston. We've been working with our Realtor and checking out lots of houses online...we're going down the 2nd week of March to find our home! Yeah! Mike is really happy about his job and we feel so blessed.

Here's where Mike will be working--it's a great facility out in the middle of nowhere! Best part, he's going against traffic to and from work--no fighting all the Houston gridlock!

We had a Cub Scout Push Mobile event on Saturday--our boys had great time. We won one of our races and and lost another--it was neat!

Here's our boys with our two Pack Masters.

All things are good on the Katelyn front! You already saw that she is crawling (holy cow!) and here are some other milestones....
She gets to go shopping sitting in the cart now! We tried it this week on a whim, it was great! No more carting around that huge car seat...and now she can use the neat cover she got for Christmas!

She is also eating lots of 'semi-solid-food-product' nowadays. It's a mess! She prefers to hold the spoon...in fact, she prefers one in each hand! The end result is dirty, but darling!

Lastly, Katelyn and I are getting ready for a trip to Detroit to tile with my Mom and Aunt Carla. So much fun! I'm nervous a bit about the solo plane ride, Katelyn is going to miss storytime with Daddy (as well as lots of other stuff), and Mike is going to be lonely, but it should be a fun trip! Mike promises to keep himself busy working on his Thesis (it's just about done!!) and we'll get a taste of what winter is supposed to feel like!

We love you all! Have a happy cold week!

Katelyn's Many New Advancements!!!

Katelyn has sure grown up a lot! Here is the run-down of all the things she has learned, and all the ways she has grown, over the last little bit!

Katelyn learned to roll while we were on vacation! Once we came home she mastered this roll and can now roll to anywhere she wants to get to.

Katelyn learned how to sit! She's so cute!

Thanks Great-Grandma Craven for the
pig...I love it!

She got her high chair once we arrived home and she is loving eating semi-solid-food-product (as we call it here at our house!) Thus far she hasn't rejected anything we have given her--although she loves things that she can feed herself with...biter biscuits are our friends!

One of our earliest adventures with rice cereal--yum!

Thanks Dad, for putting together my high chair!

Katelyn also great 2 teeth! That was not that fun of an event for me, but it's kinda cool!

She's babbling more and more and making all sorts of noises, and it's so fun to watch her 'get it' as she plays and explores.

Here are some great smiley pictures for your enjoyment! Happy blogging!

Our 2007 Christmas Vacation

Thanks for checking out the new site! I've decided to go to a blog--simply because they have more archive space. This way everyone will be able to see all my posts--past and present. Check out the link on the sidebar that will take you back to our web page. It won't really change from what it is, I'll put all the updates here, but in case you want to refer back, it's there for your taking!
As for this new page, let me update you on our recent happenings~!
We made it home from vacation! That's a happy and sad thought; I am so glad not to be living out of a suitcase anymore, and to have Katelyn in her own room, but also SO sad to be missing the people. I'm already dreaming about our next trip home!
Katelyn, as always, was an amazingly wonderful traveler. She was great on all of our long flights--several people commented that they didn't even know there was a baby onboard! That's what you want to hear when traveling with an infant! She was a trooper as we traveled from house to house to house--and although she certainly prefered Mom or Dad, she played well with all her Aunts and Uncles and Grandparents.
In the Austin Airport with Daddy--Guess who got me dressed!?

We started out our trip by flying to Utah and staying with my parents. Our first week of vacation was wedding week central--my little brother (little, meaning younger, as he is 6' 5") got married December 14th. It was a beautiful, although somewhat stressful, event and I loved every minute! Katelyn got to see lots of people who she had not seen before, and it was neat to see Kasey get married.

After the wedding, we headed down to Pleasant Grove to spend time with Chris and Becky and Aly. Katelyn loves to have little people around, and Aly was such a big helper. She wants to be a big person right now--and I think Katelyn is probably going to be right behind her! We always love staying with Becky and Chris--They are our movie buddies! I finally saw Star Wars during this vacation--and yes, they are as good as everyone says they are!

We took cousin pictures in pretty Christmas dresses while we were with the Woods. I can honestly say that event was the most stressful event I have experienced thus far, while being a mother. That smile from Katelyn was the only one we got during 5 hours of photo shooting--and those pictures of the girls were the best we could come up with! Whew! How do people do it!?

We love to cook with Becky--apparently, so does Aly!

Christmas with the Woods was great! We actually celebrated Christmas with them on New Years, but I think that was perfect--lengthen out the holiday! We helped Becky finish up some things in her basement, and Katelyn learned some new tricks!

We returned back to my house for the week of Christmas--and all the festivities that go along! It was fun to have Chelsi and Katelyn there this year--our new 2007 additions! Katelyn made off with a haul--we ended up having to ship boxes home! I packed too much for her to begin with, and to add on her Christmas presents...Dude!

The boys watched the Vegas Bowl--GO COUGS!--and we attended a live Nativity. It was cold, but really neat. We spent a day down in Provo, bowling at the Wilk and playing DDR, took an afternoon to take family pictures, had dinner at Red Robin (it's tradition!), had a party with my best friends from High School (we're growing!), Katelyn got to ride in George (our faithful, ghetto, family-kids car) and we played our new games. It was great!

January took us to Maryland. Katelyn, once again, was an awesome traveler! Yeah!

It was so great for me to spend time at Mike's house without it being a stressful event (i.e.--the only other times I have been at his house was when I was meeting his family for the first time.."will they like me, will they like me..." and when we went for our open house--). We had a great time staying with his sister Meg and her husband Ellery for a weekend, then his parents house for the remainder of our time there. We played a lot of games and I learned Williams Family cooking specialities. Katelyn loved playing with her Aunts and Uncles (who had never met her) and once again made off with a haul for Christmas!

Reading with Aunt Linda

Dancing with Aunt Emily

The weather was really nice while we were there. The boys got to go golfing and us gals hung out at the park! We didn't have a big stroller, so we used a doll stroller--it made for a very interesting walk. Katelyn had fun at the park on the slide and Aunt Emily got a fun surprise from a friendly bird. We spent one afternoon at IKEA and got lots of fun ideas for our new house. Katelyn had lots of fun playing Baby Football and she got to eat crackers for the first time.

We came back home just in time for Mike to start the new semester. We were so sad to leave all the people, but grateful to not be living out of our suitcases anymore. Katelyn slept better the night we returned home then she had in a long time! We spent a lovely Saturday unpacking and doing laundry and going grocery shopping and the such--Monday Mike started school and that brings us up to date! Enjoy the new blog!

Unpacking! Dude...look at all that stuff!
