Camping with the Woods, in the Woods... ;)

We went camping last weekend with Becky and Chris and crew. Super fun! SUPER DIRTY!  Holy cow...it was nuts!  The kids had a great time, however, so I tried to avoid wiping facing and fingers too often! :)

  We stayed at Sunset campground up Farmington canyon, and after staying there I will rule it out as a possible second camping adventure location. We endured the nastiest bathrooms I have ever seen camping and a scary drive (have you ever driven Farmington Canyon? Totally scary!) I was glad that each site had a water post, but ours was broken so that didn't help anybody.  The location was close, which was nice for us, but not really worth it. Next time I'll head to my old favorite, Northfork.

However, we had a great time.  No sleep (Mike and I played whack-a-mole with our kids all night and I ended up in the car with Luke and Becky's boy Carter had two seizures and a throw-up episode) but good food (We had an awesomely tasty dutch oven dinner--Mike is getting good!) and fun (Hammock swinging, a little hike, fishing in farmington pond).  We will do it again, I'm sure!

Katelyn's Birthday Party

We had a little friend birthday party for Katelyn this year. It was our first one, and actually really stressful~! HA!  Turned out that half of our invited guests ended up with the flu, so the morning of her party she was pretty sad thinking nobody was going to come.  But, the other half of her friends came and it turned out great!

We had a little pool party.  I'm not sure what I would have done if it had rained--I didn't think of coming up with a back up plan! Eek!  But it was sunny and beautiful and hot and she had a great time! :)

Birthday Fun!

I love this time of year! Katelyn and Mike have birthdays back to back, and the rest of the Williams family has birthdays in July (at least, a large bulk of them!).  We got to head down to Utah county for a little birthday day fun.  The pie ended up being a flop, but lunch was tasty and company was great.  We are excited for August when we can celebrate with the rest of the crew!

Katelyn had quite the birthday this year--three days of birthday to be exact. A friend party, a Williams family party, and a Craven family party. She told the waitress at Red Robin that her birthday was three days long--indeed, it was!

Mike's birthday was less cool. He spent the weekend mostly in stress over a big decision he had to make about work.  Poor kid.  Plus, our lives were crazy at the time so I sort of flopped in the birthday present department!  But--he's one year older and wiser too, and I sure love him! Next year maybe we will have student loans paid off, fear of a layoff gone, and a cruise purchased! Now that will be a birthday! :)
