Something that gives me much joy...

I hate little critters...bugs...crawly things. They have their place outside, but it's war when they come in my house. Except for ants...specifically the horrible, nasty, red fire ants of Texas. These things are nasty...they need to die wherever they are.

That's why these new Ortho Red Ant Commercials fill me with so much joy. This is a product we will purchase!

Thursdays Thoughts and Things...

Thursdays Thoughts and Things

**Katelyn has been a wild, wild, wild, wild woman the last few days. She runs around the house, around the library, around the store dancing, prancing, doing somersaults, clapping, singing, twirling. It's very cute, but very exhausting since she also chose this week to not want to take any naps...whew!

**I'm grateful this week for the fact that we are not a one car family anymore (well, we are currently, but not usually). Our truck has been in the shop this week, and the sharing of a car is interesting. I don't mind taking Mike to work, or picking him up...it's the remembering to shuffle the car seat (like if I'm going somewhere with a friend) that is tricky!

**I'm headed to Hobby Lobby this morning to buy some matte board to finish a vinyl lettering project. It is going to be so awesome! I'll post it when I'm finished.

**I'm trying to decided how to decorate my upstairs family room. I think I'm going to write into all the decorating shows and see if someone can't give me any help...I'm stumped!

**I realized that this 2nd baby doesn't have his/her ultrasound pictures up yet. Tsk, tsk! Guess it's true that first babies get all the attention! :)

**We thought we lost our camera...but I found it yesterday! This is happy and sad, because we were actually really looking into buying a new, nicer one...like a Nikon. Bummer...

Happy Birthday Ky-Man!

Today is Kyron's birthday...Happy Birthday Dude! He's got the first birthday of the year (it used to be me that had the first birthday of the year...but he stole that 14 years ago!) We wished we could have been there to help celebrate today...his birthday dinner of ham and funeral potatoes, his ordination, and the opening of presents; but know that we were thinking of you, Ky-man!

I think it's time for a trip home already--would somebody plan something cool, so I have an excuse to come!? :)

June 2009--
While picking her nose (which is a totally gross habit, I know!) Katelyn proudly proclaimed..."I got it!"

June 2009--
Mom: "How did you sleep?"
Katelyn: "REALLY good!"

July 2009--
Katelyn tells everyone she loves them...only now, she says, "I love you, Babe..."

July 2009--
Dad: "You are a smart girl."
Katelyn: "I know."

August 2009--
We dropped Kyron off at the dentist, and as we pulled away, Katelyn said, "Ah...I love Kyron."

August 2009--
Every time Katelyn (or anyone else) fails at something, her first reply is: "Try again...try again!"

September 2009--
Mommy to Daddy: "Man, this girl is wearing me out! She's so curious..."
Daddy to Katelyn: "Are you curious?"
Katelyn: "No, name's Katelyn. George is Curious!"

September 2009--
Katelyn likes to take her clothes off, so Jillisa assigned her a 'stripper' name. Now whenever you ask her what her name is, you get, "Name's Bambi!"

November 2009--

In church on Sunday, after going out in the hall with Dad for misbehavior, Katelyn came back into Sacrament meeting, folding her arms. When she reached our bench she said, at the top of her lungs..."I'm ready to be reverent now!"

December 2009--

I had my hair in curlers this week. Katelyn came in to the bathroom and said, "Oh Mom. You are beautiful. You look just like a princess!"

January 2010--

Driving home one day I hear...

"You know what Mom?"

"What, baby."

"Sometimes people make me all sad and watery."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah. And you know what else Mom?"

"What"

"Sometime people make me tired..."

January 2010--

Whenever Katelyn wants you to do something, she asks, and then adds, "Wouldcha, wouldcha?!"

February 2010--

Mom: "Katelyn, it's time for bed, come on, lets go..."

Katelyn: "But MOM...I can't go to sleep...my room is so, so hilarious!"

February 2010--
Grandma Craven: "Katelyn, you're so pretty today!"
Katelyn: "No, Grandma, I'm not. I don't have my princess dress on!"

February 2010--
Mom: "Come on Katelyn...it's time to go."
Katelyn: "Actuuaallllyyy not!"

April 2010--

Mom: "Katelyn, we need to brush your teeth."

Katelyn: "No, silly Mommy...I only brush my teeth on Thursday!"

May 2010--
We were driving past the Logan temple and I pointed it out. "Look Katelyn, there's the temple."
Katelyn: "That's where I'm going to get married to my Prince Charming!"

June 2010-

After throwing a tantrum, she stopped and said,

"Perhaps it's time to go to sleep."

June 2010-

Anytime she wants something, she negotiates. It usually sounds something like this,

"If I eat 2 more bites, I can have some candy. Is that a good plan?"

If the answer is still no, she says,

"No! That's a good plan!"

July 2010--

While walking in the grocery store with Aunts Brielle and Jillisa, Katelyn saw a woman with tattoos all over her legs...

"Oh man! She's going to be in big trouble! She colored all over herself!"

October 2010--

In church, when Josh tried to take away her finger puppets Katelyn grabbed her head and said...

"Oh Mom! Joshy Boy is giving me STRESS!"

October 2010--

We were deciding what to have for lunch.

Mom: "Katelyn, how about some bread with butter on it?"

Katelyn: "Umm, that sounds a little bit delicious...can you think of something a lot bit delicious?"

October 2010--

While Katelyn and Josh were in the bathtub I heard,

"Mom! Can you come get Josh out? He's frustrating me and giving me so much stress!"

January 2011--

Katelyn: "Mom! Joshy is an abomination!"

January 2011--

Katelyn calls Aunt Jillisa 'Aunt Bom Qui Qui.'

February 2011--

I asked Katelyn to pick up her sippy cup off the floor this morning. Her response..."But Mom! I can't! I'm having a hard time bending!!"

March 2011--

Katelyn is sure that our baby is a girl. When you ask her if we are having a baby girl or a baby boy, she will tell you that on no uncertain terms the baby is a girl, because she and Heavenly Father have talked about it..."I've told you a MILLION times. Heavenly Father is sending us a baby girl! I already asked Him and he said yes!"

April 2011--

On our way home from the hospital with Luke, Katelyn asked, "Mom...can you have another baby? Can it be a girl this time?"

May 2011-

Katelyn gave her first talk in Primary. She talked about Joseph Smith and how Jesus and Heavenly Father 'disappeared to him!' She did a great job!

June 2011--

It was time to leave Grandma's house and Mike showed Katelyn the clock. Mike: What time is it, Katelyn?

Katelyn: It's time to stay here!

June 2011--

After trying on her new hot pink and black flip-flops, in a high squeaky voice..."They are STINKIN cute!"

November 2011--

I was trying to get Katelyn to go back to bed (after she woke up way too freakishly early!). She said she wouldn't lay down without me because, "You are such a good mother!"

November 2011--

We were watching a slideshow of old family photos and Katelyn said, "Look Mom!! All the babies in our family have man hair!" Guess you have to grow old at our house to have girl hair.

Remember This, Josh...

October 2010--

Josh can say 'Ball, Dad, Book," and the sounds of a puppy.

January 2011--

Josh has mastered 'No!' and 'Mine!'

February 2011--

Josh loves baths...after breakfast every morning, the first thing he says is 'bath!'

February 2011--

After getting Josh dressed each morning, he spreads his arms out wide and says 'Ta-Da!'

February 2011--

Josh says 'k-k' for Katelyn

March 2011--

Josh say 'Okay' after everything... (I'm not sure he knows the meaning of this word completely!)

April 2011--

Josh can't say his L's, so Luke is 'Guke!'

June 2011--

After questions which require an affirmative answer, Josh says, "Yes, I do!", even if it would be more appropraite to say, 'yes I will', or 'yes I am!'

September 2011--

Josh loves to pray, but has some specific people that need to be remembered. When you are helping him pray, as soon as you say, "bless..." Josh pipes in with, "And Josh! And Josh! And Josh! And Josh!" If you don't prompt him to bless Josh, and soon, he's gets a bit hysterical! :)

November 2011--

Josh calls Angel Moroni, "Moroni the Ensign!"

January 2012--

Josh: "Mom. I love Dad. Let's not eat him."

February 2012:

When you ask Josh what his name his, he will tell you,

"Joshua Michael 2!"
