Have I told you he's mobile?

So, the Josh man is crawler extraordinare! Well, maybe not really, fully, true to form crawling, but most certainly getting around. And he's got his first bumps and bruises to show for it: yup, that's right. Fell down the stairs yesterday. Awful, awful, awful!!
But, back to his new skill. I'm posting a video we took 2 weeks ago. I'll get some more footage today, to prove it, but you wouldn't believe how fast he is now! The baby gate is now a permanent fixture at our lovely home, and it's time to step up on my vacuuming.

You're looking at one happy, accomplished dude! Ah, the freedom of mobility!!

We Love Dauntless!!

Ky, my little AMAZING brother, was Prince Dauntless in his Junior High Schools rendition of "Once Upon a Mattress." The whole fam went last night, as is tradition, and it was great. Kyron was hilarious and it was so fun to watch (and not nearly as painful as you would expect a Junior High play to be!). My sisters took more pictures then I did, so when I get them I may add more pictures to this post, but until then...

Easter Egg Hunt...

Good ol Dicks had an Easter Egg Hunt this weekend. Everything was divided into age groups and all hunky dorey. It started at 10, and within 30 seconds everything was GONE! We had a great time, but I think next year, we'll call it an Easter Egg Scramble!

What does it look like...

What does two sick kids look like?

It looks like throw up every 1/2 hour for 16 hours straight, by one or both of the kids.

It looks like a tired momma making a midnight run to the grocery store (and having to drive all over cuz everything is closed on Sunday).

It looks like lots of hulu watched and blogging.

It looks like a daddy taking sick leave to spell Mom when's she's had it.

It looks like this...

and this...

and this...

and this...
But...we survived! Let's hope this particular bug doesn't visit us again! (Or, maybe it should, seeing how we've all built an immunity to it now!)

I'm a SuperMom...

I'm a SuperMom...

I can make monsters go away with a song.

I can heal boo-boo's with a single kiss.

I am fast: I can get the bucket to the child before the throw up gets to the carpet.

I can read the same story over and over and over again, and then read it again tomorrow.

I can survive on less sleep then I had in college...only now I take care of 3, instead of just me.

I can tell if somebody has a fever with the just the touch of my hand.

I can go grocery shopping with 2 kids, by myself (!) and still come out of the store with what I need.

I can make cool forts and awesome noises without even trying.

I can distract a child with nothing more than my hands.

I can stop a child with nothing more than my eyes.

I can get a child to sleep by just rocking.

My voice soothes a crying baby.

I can make cookies, prepare lunch, and schedule visiting teaching all at the same time.

I make even normal days special.

I am magic: I can turn pancakes green, and make balls disappear.

I can do laundry, clean the floors, and make a yummy dinner all in the same day.

I know when it's important to let the laundry, clean floors, and yummy dinner go...

I can follow the example of other SuperMom's around me, and remember that I am and example too.

I can remind little girls that they are princesses.

I have eyes in the back of my head: I know that when it's quite, it's time to investigate!

I can teach something that my child has never before known.

I am a Super Mom!

It's Gone!!

It's a sad day at the Williams household. We finished off our last quart of yummy, incredibly awesome homemade applesauce this morning. We made 34 quarts last fall, split them with my parents to bring home 17 quarts. And we didn't even make it to spring.

Adios, yummy applesauce. Welcome back, the store bought kind.

Can't wait til apple season again so we can make even more!!

Announcement...!

Nope...it's not what you were thinking... :)

I'm back in Young Womens! Yeah!! I was just called as the Girls Camp Director. Wahoo!! So, pretty much I have free reign to do whatever I want. The theme is vague--something about courage, footsteps, maybe feet? I can go anyway I want.
So...send me your fabulous ideas and I'll start cookin! Yeah!

Anybody want to see something sad?

So, Josh-man has bad skin. Well, actually, that is a HUGE understatement.

Evidence: Exhibit A-E

And all this after seeing the pediatrician (4 times), the specialist, cutting out milk, the entire family washing our clothes in Dreft, cutting out trigger foods (carrots, corn), staying off our old nasty carpet, washing sheets/blankets/etc religiously, lotion-Lotion-LOTION, steroid cremes, body oils, prescriptions, old wives tales....

The specialist gives me hope that he'll grow out of it and that it is not going to be one of those allergies where he can't have gluten or soy his whole life, but in the meantime he's miserable.

So ladies--send me your tips, cuz it's no wonder this cute dude isn't sleeping!

A great date idea...It will knock your socks off! :)

Mike was in charge of our date last week...and it was awesome. Just had to give him a shout-out (I hear that if there is a behavior you want repeated, you should give some positive reinforcement! ;)

For our date I got a package of socks--cuz I was running out of fun ones--and each sock I picked had something attached to it. For example, the plain purple socks meant that we were going to Panda Express for dinner. The Pink Calico socks meant that we were going to go to Tai Pan Trading to do some shopping--kid free!! We, of course, hit up Barnes and Noble to read "Fox in Socks" as well as lots of other classics. Men-folk...copy this idea. It was great! Thanks honey!
